Responsibilities

• Responsible for system software architecture.
• Responsible for the device driver for our FPGA-based coprocessor.
• Tune the driver performance for bandwidth and latency.
• Work closely with our hardware team to ensure a high performance and clean system design.
• Work closely with our hardware team during hardware bring-up.
• Work closely with our partners to integrate our device driver and our coprocessor into their systems.

Technical Requirements

• 8+ years of system software engineering experience of which a portion has been participation in defining system software architectures.
• Experience with complex high performance Linux/Unix drivers, for example Gigabit Ethernet or graphics drivers.
• Experience with driver performance tuning for bandwidth and latency, including such techniques as memory management, memory mapping, PIO vs. DMA, relaxed ordering, zero copying, and adding asynchronous calls.
• MSCS or equivalent.

• High Performance Computing (HPC)
• X86 hardware experience, AMD Opteron is best
• HyperTransport (HT) Bus
• BIOS
• Linux/Unix kernel

Additional Requirements

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a start-up environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skill.
• You must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation is not available.
• This is a full-time, regular position. Contractors need not apply.
• You must be authorized to work in the USA.
